Everything we get asked most, in plain English. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask BlissHub directly — or talk to a human.
BlissHub is a conversational AI assistant built by Scottish Power to help anyone navigate their energy — whether you’re setting up, switching, or reading a bill. Yes, it’s genuinely free. There’s no premium tier, no hidden paywall, no “first month free” trick.
We built it because acquiring an energy customer through traditional channels costs £40–£80 per switch. If even 5% of BlissHub users eventually switch to Scottish Power, the product pays for itself. Everyone else still gets to use it, free, forever.
No. BlissHub is open to anyone in the UK — whether you’re with Octopus, British Gas, OVO, Bulb (remember them?), or anyone else. Ask away.
Start with: “I just moved in — what do I need to do?” BlissHub will walk you through the day-one essentials (find the meter, take a reading, note the supplier) and then the week-one follow-ups (first bill, switching rights, direct debit setup).
If you want, you can skip straight to a specific question like “Where is my meter?” or “What’s an MPAN?”
It doesn’t — unless you tell it. BlissHub can answer general tariff questions (“what’s a standing charge?”, “fixed vs variable?”) without any data from you. For personalised answers (“what tariff am I on?”, “am I overpaying?”), you opt in to share your postcode or smart-meter readings. Always optional.
BlissHub can walk you through the switching process and even hand you to a Scottish Power agent to complete the switch. It cannot switch you to a different supplier on its own — for that, you’ll want Ofgem’s official Energy Switch Guarantee or a comparison site like MoneySavingExpert.
BlissHub is honest about this. If you ask “should I switch to Octopus?”, it’ll tell you genuinely, based on tariffs and usage — even though we’re Scottish Power.
It tells you. BlissHub is trained to say “I’m not sure about that one — let me hand you to a human who can check” rather than guess. One tap and a real Scottish Power agent picks up.
It also cites sources on everything it does answer, so you can verify independently — with Ofgem, Citizens Advice, or Scottish Power’s own tariff data.
Yes. Conversations are stored in UK-based Scottish Power systems for 30 days by default (or deleted instantly if you tap “Delete my chat history”). They’re never sold, shared with third parties, or used to train the AI model.
You can use BlissHub entirely anonymously — no email, no phone number, no account needed.
Real AI, with guardrails. It’s built on a large language model, trained and fine-tuned on Scottish Power’s tariff data, Ofgem’s regulations, and thousands of real UK energy queries. It’s not a scripted chatbot — it understands context and phrasing — but it’s also not a general-purpose AI like ChatGPT.
It’s specifically narrow: energy-related questions, UK-focused, with accountability built in.
If you’re in financial distress, debt, or need emotional support, BlissHub will gently hand you straight to a human — a trained Scottish Power agent, or signposting to partners like StepChange, Citizens Advice, or Shelter.
AI is not the right tool for those moments, and we know it.
Our target is 95%+ accuracy, verified against Ofgem rules and Scottish Power tariff data. Every answer cites its source so you can check. If BlissHub gets something wrong, you can flag it with one tap — it goes to our human review team, and if it’s a pattern, we fix it for everyone.
Some questions need a real person. Reach out to a Scottish Power agent — we’re here 24/7.
